Keropok Lekor BTB2209

Move over Losong, Bukit Tok Beng has come to claim her throne! Yes, it is true! BTB2209 located at Bukit Tok Beng, Seberang Takir IS THE MOST POPULAR keropok (fish snack) shop in Terengganu. People all over come to buy keropok lekor (fresh fish snack) or keropok keping (dry fish snack) for they produce the best quality, best tasting, boneless keropok and yet the price is reasonably cheap too (RM 1.00 for keropok 30cm long)!

The shop located around the corner before Sekolah Menengah Ibrahim Fikri and open from Saturday to Thursday, 8.30 am to 6.30 pm. Here you have to take ticket (are we in bank?) just to buy fresh piping hot keropok because of the huge crowd waiting for it. Bored of waiting? Not to worry for they also have a cafe selling local delicacies and of course fried keropok while waiting for your turn. Oh please, it worth the wait!

The owner of the shop really cares for the quality of the produce. It were proven by mechanizing most of the process in making keropok and the City Council of Kuala Terengganu has awarded them an A in cleanliness (the highest award). They also got halal certificate from MAIDAM (Terengganu Islamic Council). If you are traveling back home to other state, you can buy the vacuum pack keropok with extra charge of RM 0.50. Terengganu's Gamelan

In 1811, an exquisite dance performance, accompanied by an ensemble of brass instruments, was brought from the Riau-Lingga court to enliven a royal wedding which took place in Pekan, Pahang. Since then, this performing art, now known as the Malay gamelan, had developed into an exclusive entertainment for royal pleasure in the Pahang and Terengganu courts. Between 1914 and 1942, the love and effort devoted by the royal couple of Terengganu, Sultan Sulaiman Badrul Alam Syah and Tengku Ampuan Mariam, had carried the Malay gamelan into its glory days.
